What’s new in Discounty
Every change to the app since 2022, newest first: new features, improvements and fixes.
October 2026
- New
Run a Buy X get Y campaign on a discount code, not only as an automatic discount: choose “Automatic” or “Discount code” as the Discount method. With a code, the shopper enters it at checkout and gets the reward only if the cart qualifies.
- New
Style each storefront widget your own way with custom CSS, from the new Custom CSS card on every widget page. The preview updates as you type, and Lumos can suggest CSS that matches your theme for you to review.
- Fixed
A Shipping discount campaign whose discount was deleted in Shopify no longer gets stuck in “Applying”. Apply it again and it gets a new discount in Shopify, as Buy X get Y and Bulk price editor campaigns already do.
- New
Discount your store prices and the fixed prices in your Shopify Markets and B2B company location catalogs with the Bulk price editor. With a percentage discount, choose store prices, catalog prices or both.
- New
In a catalog, the campaign changes the variants that already have a fixed price and doesn’t add a fixed price to the others. The original price shows as the compare-at price, and every price goes back when the campaign ends.
- New
Give in-store customers the same automatic gifts as online shoppers. The new “Discounty Free Gifts” tile on Shopify POS adds the gift of a Buy X get Y campaign set to “Auto-add to cart” when the cart qualifies.
- New
The tile removes the gift when the cart no longer qualifies. If staff remove a gift, or it fails to add, the tile doesn’t add it again until the cart is emptied.
- New
Use the Discounty dashboard in Japanese: pick it in Settings → Language. Emails and some other app text stay in English.
- Improved
Open Lumos from the “Ask Lumos” button in the page header, which replaces the floating button. Extra header buttons now sit under “More actions”, so the header fits on narrow screens.
- Improved
When you need something Discounty doesn’t cover, Lumos can suggest a partner app and open its card in Settings → Partners. Nothing is installed or saved.
- Improved
Lumos suggests Subi for subscriptions, Notify Me! for back-in-stock alerts and preorders, and Convi for an AI chat for shoppers.
- New
See which Discounty campaigns applied to an order on the Shopify order itself. After you grant order attribution access, Discounty adds a “Discounty campaigns” metafield to each order where a campaign applied from then on, listing each campaign’s ID, type and name.
- New
Grant order attribution access from the popup or banner in the app, or in Settings → Order attribution access, and remove it in Shopify admin. Orders without a Discounty campaign are left as they are, and no customer data is written.
- Fixed
Messages you send to Support from inside the app now reliably reach the Support team. If sending fails, the contact form opens with your message already filled in.
- New
Show shoppers every product a campaign covers without leaving the product page. When a campaign covers 2 or more products, an “Eligible items” link appears under the Quantity discount table and inside the Buy X get Y offer block, and opens the full list.
- New
You can rename the “Eligible items” link in each widget’s customization.
- Improved
The Buy X get Y offer widget now also shows for campaigns based on a minimum amount spent, not only a minimum quantity. Its {quantity} tag is now {minimum}, which shows the quantity or the amount, such as $50.00. Texts that still use {quantity} keep working.
- New
Show shoppers your Buy X get Y deal before they add to cart. The new offer widget adds a block such as “Buy 2 of this item, get FREE” on product pages and a small badge on product cards on home and collection pages.
- New
Turn on the block, the badge or both under Widgets, and change their text, colours and translations. Both stay off until you turn them on.
- New
Before Lumos builds a campaign, it tells you if a setting is outside your plan and names the cheapest plan that has it.
- New
Lumos plans campaigns around your store’s real public holidays, and suggests a feature your plan includes that you haven’t used yet.
- New
Lumos can create Buy X get Y rewards that cover your whole store.
- Improved
Paste a product, variant or collection ID, or its admin or store link, and Lumos finds it anywhere in your catalog. Product and collection search also matches product IDs, variant IDs and handles.
- Fixed
Stop and New chat now stop the reply Lumos is writing, and a reply in progress still finishes if the panel loses its connection. Typing while a Lumos proposal is open no longer breaks the chat.
- Fixed
Lumos no longer offers product targeting for Shipping discount campaigns.
- New
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app to your store in Settings → AI apps: follow the step-by-step guide and approve a pairing code. A connected app can read your campaigns, widgets, plan and performance but can’t change them, and you can remove it with one click.
- New
Sync products: update an active Bulk price editor, Quantity discount or Cart goal campaign now, from the campaign page or as a bulk action in the Campaigns list, instead of waiting for the automatic update.
- New
A sync adds and discounts products that now match the campaign’s filters, and removes products that no longer match along with their discount. Products whose price alone changed are left as they are, and the campaign can’t be edited while it shows “Updating products”.
- Fixed
Shipping discount campaigns limited to certain countries no longer drop off at checkout when the cart changes or the page reloads. The country list is still checked against the shopper’s final address.
- Fixed
Opening a campaign while it is updating products no longer shows an error.
- Fixed
When Lumos fills in the countdown widget, your saved colours, labels and link stay as they were.
- Fixed
What Lumos fills in on a widget is no longer lost when your saved settings load, or carried over to the widget’s other version (Buy X get Y pop-up or button, countdown start or end).
- Fixed
Shopify Sidekick no longer offers auto update when it creates a Buy X get Y campaign, or product targeting when it creates a Shipping discount campaign. The app never kept those settings.
- Fixed
Quantity discount badges on product cards now stay on every card when more products load (infinite scroll, “load more”, quick view).
- New
Shopify Sidekick can now prefill changes to a saved campaign and open its Activate or Deactivate confirmation. Nothing is saved until you click Save.
- New
Advanced discount code product discounts can require a minimum purchase amount, with several tiers that count only the eligible products’ spend.
- Fixed
A Buy X get Y campaign with “Show pop-up” turned on now needs specific variants as its reward, and tells you so when you save.
- Fixed
Buy X get Y and Advanced discount code campaigns filled in by Lumos or Shopify Sidekick now apply at checkout; before, shoppers could be charged full price. If you saved one on or before 6 October, turn it off, save it and turn it back on.
- Fixed
When you ask Lumos for a person, your request now reaches the Support team as a normal conversation, with the context Support needs, instead of waiting on the chat bot.
- Improved
Buy X get Y gifts appear about half a second after Add to cart, and the gift shown in the store is always the one checkout applies.
- Improved
A collection that holds a single variant, such as a gift card, now matches correctly in Buy X get Y.
- Fixed
Campaigns no longer stay in “Applying” after their discount has gone live.
- New
Discounty Expert is now Lumos: a new name and look, and a plain-words list of each step it takes.
- Fixed
The discount badge under product-card prices shows again on the current version of Shopify’s Horizon theme.
- Fixed
When the Buy X get Y pop-up is set to stay dismissed until the offer changes, it now re-opens when a shopper’s cart drops below the offer and qualifies again.
- Fixed
On themes that switch variants in an older way, the Quantity discount table now updates when a shopper picks another variant, instead of showing the first variant’s tiers.
September 2026
- New
Advanced discount code product discounts can be taken off the compare-at price instead of the selling price (selected plans).
- Fixed
On themes with a custom-built cart drawer, a Buy X get Y free gift now shows in the drawer and reaches checkout.
- Fixed
When Shopify turns down a campaign because you have reached its limit on automatic discounts, the app now says so and suggests turning off another app’s discount.
- New
A Discounty Campaigns tile on the Shopify POS home screen shows the Buy X get Y rewards the cart qualifies for and your active codes, so staff can apply them without leaving the cart.
- New
A third condition for Quantity discount and Cart goal: “Same product, any variant”, so “buy 3 of this T-shirt in any size” works.
- New
Every Shopify collection type, including ones built on category, metafield or weight rules, can now be used in Quantity discount, Cart goal, Buy X get Y and Advanced discount code.
- Improved
The assistant (now Lumos) appears with suggestions on Campaigns, Plans, every campaign editor, Analytics, Customization, Help and Safe uninstall, and a question goes straight into the chat.
- Fixed
A Buy X get Y reward now shows in the cart right away for shoppers browsing your store in a second language, such as a /en/cart storefront.
- Fixed
On themes that open a full cart page after Add to cart, a Buy X get Y free gift now shows without a manual reload.
- Fixed
An assistant chat (now Lumos) no longer freezes after a step is cancelled or fails, and a reply that stops partway keeps the text already written.
- Fixed
Widgets appear as soon as a product page loads, instead of waiting for the page to change.
- Fixed
The Quantity discount badge shows the right price to shoppers paying in another currency.
- Fixed
A large campaign no longer stops part-way through applying when the store’s Shopify access expires mid-run.
- Fixed
On phones, the button for the assistant (now Lumos) no longer covers the page’s top-right buttons, so you can reach More actions and deactivate a campaign.
- Fixed
Reinstalling Discounty now starts with a clean setup, with no stale settings carried over from an earlier install.
- Improved
The number of products and variants a campaign will affect is calculated in one step, instead of refreshing until it settles.
- Fixed
The “was” price stays on the storefront when a cart discount and a product discount apply to the same item.
- Fixed
The “Products already discounted” window names only the campaign that is blocking a product today.
- Improved
The assistant (now Lumos) can also fill in stacking rules, usage limits and the Buy X get Y pop-up message for you.
- New
An AI assistant inside the app, now called Lumos. Ask how your campaigns are doing, or describe a sale and it fills in the campaign for you to check and save.
August 2026
- Fixed
If your store is east of UTC, you can now pick the start day you want when scheduling a campaign.
- Fixed
The Buy X get Y free gift comes back when a shopper’s cart empties out and then qualifies again.
- Fixed
The Quantity discount table no longer shows on a product page for a variant or subscription option the campaign does not cover.
- Fixed
Buy X get Y adds and removes free gifts automatically even when the pop-up is turned off.
- Improved
The Buy X get Y pop-up’s rewards-count message can now be edited and translated.
- Fixed
Buy X get Y adds the full reward quantity to the cart, not a single item.
- Fixed
On Horizon, Fluorescent and other themes that redraw the cart in sections, the cart drawer now shows a Buy X get Y reward as soon as it is added.
July 2026
- Fixed
Widgets stay in your store’s language for shoppers paying in euros.
- Fixed

- Fixed
The Buy X get Y pop-up opens again when “Show pop-up” is turned on.
June 2026
- New
Translate widget text into your store’s languages by hand or with “Translate with AI” (selected plans).
- Fixed
When several Buy X get Y campaigns share a trigger product, every campaign’s gift is now added to the cart automatically, not only the first.
- Fixed
In the Shopify mobile app on iPhone, Discounty’s buttons no longer hide behind Shopify’s navigation bar.
- New
Ask Shopify Sidekick about your Discounty campaigns: what is running, how it performs, and which campaign type fits.
- Fixed
In a “Buy 1, get 1 free” offer on the same product, the free item is now added to the cart automatically, without the shopper adding a second one.
- New
Quantity discount and Cart goal can stack with a Buy X get Y or Advanced discount code campaign on the same cart line, on Shopify Plus stores with the Discounty or Ultimate plan.
- New
Buy X get Y and Advanced discount code campaigns can stack on one cart line, so “Buy 2 get 1 free” and “10% off boots” both apply, not just the better one. Needs Shopify Plus and the Discounty or Ultimate plan.
