Why do Bulk price editor discounts show up, then disappear minutes or hours later?
Bulk price editor discounts show up, then prices revert later? Another app is usually rewriting prices. Find it and keep your sale prices.
Your Bulk price editor discounts show at first, but after a while the original prices come back. Discounty changes each product's Price and Compare at price when the campaign is applied. When the prices change back later, another app or a manual edit is almost always writing to those fields after Discounty. This guide helps you find that app, change its settings, and keep your sale prices in place.
Applies to: Discounty Bulk price editor campaigns (formerly "General discount"). Other Discounty campaign types follow different rules — browse our other troubleshooting guides.
The campaign form warns about this too: "Activating price rules will update your product prices. If you're using other apps that also adjust pricing, their changes may overlap. To avoid conflicts, it's best to deactivate all price rules before making manual price changes."
Step 1: Confirm the symptom
Activate your Bulk price editor campaign.
Visit your storefront in a private or incognito window. You should see the sale price.
Check the same product a few hours later, or the next morning. If the original price is back, continue to step 2.
Step 2: Find any app that edits prices
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels.
Open each installed app. Look for features named repricing, syncing, feed update, inventory update, compare-at adjustment, discount, price editor or similar.
Note every app that:
changes Price or Compare at price, or
runs on a timer, schedule or feed sync.
Common causes: inventory or ERP connectors, Google or Facebook feed managers, dynamic pricing tools, and print-on-demand platforms. Manual price edits on products in an active campaign have the same effect.
Step 3: Stop the conflict
Choose one of these options for each app you found:
Option | When to use it | How |
|---|---|---|
Turn off price editing | The app's price updates aren't essential. | In the app's settings, turn off any rule that writes to price or compare-at price. |
Exclude discounted items | The app supports exclusions. | Add a tag or collection rule telling the app to skip products while they're in a Discounty campaign. |
Pause the app for the sale | A flash sale or short campaign. | Turn the app's price updates off until the promotion ends, then turn them back on. |
Step 4: Reactivate your Bulk price editor campaign
After changing the other app or apps:
Please note: deactivating the campaign overrides any price changes made while it was active and returns all prices to what they were before the campaign started.
Go to Campaigns in Discounty.
Deactivate the Bulk price editor campaign and wait until it shows Expired.
Click Activate. Discounty writes the discounted prices to every product again.
Sync products doesn't fix this. It updates which products are in the campaign, but it doesn't rewrite prices that another app changed.
Step 5: Check again after 24 hours
Revisit a few discounted products the next day.
If the sale prices are still there, the conflict is solved.
If prices change back again, look for any remaining apps or manual edits.
